Saxophonist, composer and educator, Dan Meinhardt originally comes from Kenosha, Wisconsin. A recent graduate from the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin, Dan holds a BMus. in Saxophone Performance with an Emphasis in Jazz. At Lawrence, Dan studied with Fred Sturm, Steven Jordheim, Tom Washatka and Mark Urness, among others. While jazz is a primary focus, Dan has also become an accomplished classical and world musician as well as learning a diverse array of musical styles throughout his relatively short career.

During his time at Lawrence, Dan performed with Ingrid Jensen, Art Lande, Joel Frahm, Ike Sturm, Brian Lynch, Geoffrey Keezer and Bobby McFerrin, to name a few. Now in Eugene, Dan plays lead alto in the UO Jazz Ensemble and tenor in a jazz small group. Outside of the University, Dan can be heard in his trio and quintet, playing originals and new arrangements. He has been teaching jazz and classical saxophone and clarinet for six years.
