Saxophone and woodwind player Matt Taylor relocated to Eugene from Las Vegas in 2018 an immediately began appearing on a wide range of Shedd Institute projects on its Shedd Presents and Jazz Kings series, at Oregon Festival of American Music and as a regular member of the Shedd Theatricals orchestra. In Las Vega he played for Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga, Gloria Estefan, Carol King, John Secada, Ricky Martin, Rita Moreno, David Foster and Friends, Brian McKnight, Heather Headley, Hairspray, The Producers, the Las Vegas Philharmonic and Jersey Boys. Matt performed and recorded with one of Las Vegas premier jazz ensembles, The Las Vegas Jazz Connection under the direction of Nathan Tanouye. Matt also performed with the Virginia Symphony Pops and acclaimed artists Doc Severinsen, Tommy Newsome, Mel Torme, Lionel Hampton and Crystal Gayle and he has shared the stage with Pete Christlieb, Richie Cole, Ernie Watts, and David Fathead Newman among others. He also performed with the United States Continental Army Band from 1992-1996.
