The annual march, sponsored by the Eugene-Springfield chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, is celebrating the theme “Community Standing Together: In Support of Excellence and Unity.” The march will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Science Factory parking lot, 2300 Leo Harris Parkway, next to Autzen Stadium, and will end at The Shedd, 285 E. Broadway, for a post-march celebration from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The celebration will feature a community slide show, UO President Michael Gottfredson, Congressman Peter DeFazio, and other speakers, a welcome by Eugene Mayor Kitty Piercy, and entertainment provided by Frat/Sorority Step Dance and the NAACP 2014 MLK Choir.
