Jerry Herman and Michael Stewart’s award-winning, smash hit musical adaptation of Thornton Wilder’s 1938 farce The Merchant of Yonkers (which was itself based on Brit John Oxenford’s 1835 play A Day Well Spent), Hello, Dolly! follows the romantic and comic exploits of Dolly Gallagher-Levi, a strong-willed turn-of-the-century matchmaker and “woman who arranges things”, as she travels to Yonkers, New York, to find a match for the miserly “well-known unmarried half-a-millionaire” Horace Vandergelder. Look for great dancing, songs (“Hello, Dolly!”, “When The Parade Passes By”, “Ribbons Down My Back”), and plenty of good humor!
