The Emerald City Jazz Kings kick off their 2021-22 season with I'm Glad There Is You in October and All Is Bright, their annual Christmas show in December. With long-time Jazz Kings trombonist Glenn Griffith on the podium, explores two legendary 20th century vocal stylists, Johnny Hartman and Lena Horne and features Shedd regulars Siri Vik and Bill Hulings. For All Is Bright, Jazz Kings Christmas show founder Shirley Andress welcomes Bill Hulings, Marisa Frantz, and Vicki Brabham in another year of heartwarming holiday cheer. There will be 2 more programs during the season.
The Emerald City Jazz Kings is the resident jazz & classic American Songbook ensemble of The John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts. The Jazz Kings produce 4 original concerts each year on various themes pertinent to the historic popular music and jazz of the 1920s through ‘50s, with performances in Eugene at The Shedd, and in Corvallis.
